This initiative will leverage critical scientific advances in HIV prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and outbreak response by coordinating the highly successful programs, resources, and infrastructure of many HHS agencies and offices. CDC works closely with states and local communities, national partners that work on behalf of people with and risk for HIV, as well as government partners, to scale up the highest-impact HIV prevention, care, treatment, and outbreak response strategies. In alignment with the DHAP Strategic Plan 2017–2020 pdf icon [PDF – 546 KB] , CDC supports behavioral, biomedical, and structural interventions; public health strategies; and social marketing campaigns from the Compendium of Evidence-based Interventions and Best Practices for HIV Prevention . Toward supporting the HIV prevention workforce, this site provides capacity building assistance (CBA) resources for CDC-supported interventions and strategies categorized by one or more of the four pillars for the EHE initiative. Diagnose Resources to diagnose all people with HIV as early as possible. Treat Resources to treat people with HIV rapidly and effectively to reach sustained viral suppression. Prevent Resources to prevent new HIV transmissions by using proven interventions, including pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP).
